3d print T34

Hi

I am printing my first tank. Great project from 3dprintedtanks! I am new to this hobby, i made lot of rc truck and some plane but never rc tank. I made some search for mainboard and they appear that they are very expensive !! taigen tanks is economical choice but no configuration option.. so tcb will be my choice. i take time to find alternatives for compomnent obsolète or out of stock. I will have to ordre them but i have time! printing these tank take time!

Good luck with your project. Yes, I've printed several tanks and they run around 400 hours of print time or more. You'll have plenty of time for research!

You're off to a good start! Keep us updated on your progress. I don't know what you plan for the TCB. I usually don't recommend people trying to assemble their own, even though of course the design is freely available, but it is not a simple process and I don't want people to become frustrated when their board doesn't work. Also right now it is very difficult to get certain necessary components due to the global chip shortage. However if you can find an Arduino-compatible Mega board then you can get quite a few features working without too much extra work. Also if you are able to upload your pictures in JPG format that would be better than PDF!

i work in electronic so assembling pcb is not a problem. its easy to find mosfet or capacitance with same value than the one you used. for the mega2650 they seem to have some in allie express. I will see in time but thanks for the link I will rend it

when you talk about assembling the tcb is there common problem or if I follow the drawing everything should be ok? ( in the case that my assembly is good)

If you follow the schematic and Bill of Materials and succeed in getting everything soldered/reflowed correctly you will be fine. There is no common problem, but you need a lot of experience with this kind of surface mount assembly and most people have not done it before. I ruined many boards myself before I got good enough and those were very expensive lessons! Also if your board doesn't work it is very hard for me to help you troubleshoot since there are so many things that could have gone wrong during assembly that I will not know about it. Therefore I generally discourage people from trying this, but I won't say absolutely don't do it.

i have finished assembly! i need to put electronic. the assembly of the tcb was ok except that there is no good atmega and i didnt find the right usb/uart IC... i will put that aside and build the other version with the arduino. i have already one. more easy to assemble. when electronic part will become disponible i will finish the tcb to put it in another tank!

Welcome Oleg! It is interesting you are on opposite sides of the world but both building the same tank and both using an Arduino for control.

I just posted a new member design to the Downloads page called the Baldock Shield. It seems you both already know how you want to proceed, but I mention it just in case it might give you some ideas.

I would not dare to make a serious model of your development. I have a lot of experience in 3D modeling,
but I am nothing more than an amateur in programming.

Photos and videos will be required. And even advice to those who want to repeat the project when there are real results.

Otherwise thanks for the info about the member project. I will mainly use the picture that you put in an ancient post about using arduino because I use 2 external esc and also Sbus reveiver. i will also install IR. about that; you really make the current rise to 2 to 3A with a 3ohms resistor and a .8A transistor without blowing it?? I will get a 4A transistor just to be sure. what is the range with that setup?
