servo recoil
« on: May 14, 2021, 04:55:58 AM »
Dear Luke,

Is it possible to have 2 RC-outputs be used for a recoil servo , each with their own trigger?

Best regards,

Wim

Hi Wim, good question, but unfortunately no, the TCB does not presently have the ability to control a second cannon recoil.

Hello Luke,

Thank you for the confirmation.

My thought:

Use a second atmega2560 board, flash the TCB firmware, connect the serial3 Rx signals from the TCB board (after the inverting stage) to the second atmega2560 board.

The second board will decode the, in my case, SBUS packets in parallel. The second board can than be configured to trigger it's own recoil servo using a RC channel not used by the TCB board.

Best regards,

Wim

Yes, that will certainly work, if you have the space for it. There are smaller versions of the Mega, do a search for Mega Pro Mini.

In the past I have considered adding a second servo recoil but the main problem is there would be no good way for the user to set up the endpoints or reversing.
