Show and Tell / High speed tracked vehicle....something different
« on: August 31, 2021, 07:18:35 AM »
Hi All,

So for the past few months I have been entertaining myself with with building a kind of tank-ish looking thing.
Wasn't too sure on what I wanted it to look like, but I wanted it to go fast.
So with 2 x 56112 780 kV motors on 8S, I should be in for some fun. The test runs on the stand where actually pretty scary.
It's 800 mm long and 450 mm wide, weighing in at a healthy 15 kg.

And today, after a bit of waiting, I finally got my 2 brand new OP TCB delivered  ;D
Took the gamble and had them made in China, so fingers crossed they're ok!
Will start digging further in to the startup and configuration as I want to drive it with a pistol grip radio.

Any good suggestions for a shell / body?

For some reasons the pictures don't show in the preview, let's hope they show in the post....
[EDIT]: yes they do :)

TCB Dev / TCB component unavailable / exchange
« on: July 05, 2021, 03:56:23 AM »
Hi Luke,

I took the plunge and I'm having 2 TCB's made in China, so far so good.
Only thing is that they seem to be unable to get a hold of 743C083151JP RES ARRAY 150 OHM 4 RES, the feedback is that it is discontinued.
As I'm far from an electronics engineer, what would be an acceptable / suitable replacement?

Printing is done and all other components are in, so they'll be assembling soon :)

Kind regards,
Chi-el

Open Panzer Help / TCB brake servo operation
« on: February 02, 2021, 12:59:30 PM »
Hi All,

I'm currently working my way through designing a high speed tracked vehicle, not so much weaponized, more like a Ripsaw toy version, approx. 1/6.
It will be powered by 2x 8s 56112 Rocket motors with ZTW beast pro sl 200A ESC's.

I know the braking function is included in the TCB by means of a motor break, but I was playing with the idea of doing the braking directly on the drive
shafts by means of 2 servo operated disc brakes.

Would the TCB be able to send the brake signal from reversing the throttle lever directly to the servo's and leave the motors untouched so to say?
Also, I'm eyeing 70 kg PWM servo's that require 500-2500us, would the TCB be able to generate that signal?

EDIT: could these servo's alternatively be operated directly from the receiver?

Thanks!
Michiel
