Hi,
attached a Picture of my TCB with Open Panzer Soundcard.
The Sound Card ist heavy modified to fit with less space over the TCB.
The FrSky XM is soldered direct to he TCB.

your experience with Thomas Benedini is uniqe...

Thomas is a helpful and nice person.
I use five TBS Mini and did not even have problems.

Did you order the TBS Mini by mail,
and order the TBS Mini in the configuration for the TCB?

If not, you get a TBS Mini with Standard Configuration "Auto Start"....

No, the TBS Mini are not too expensive!
These are the best sounding modules you can get.

I measured the speaker DC resistance yesterday, and it is 6.5 ohms.   That is wierd.....oh, well.

the ohms what you measure is not the speaker impedance...
the speaker impedance is a measure of the resistance of a loudspeaker to alternating current.
this is usually the case at a frequency between 250 and 400 Hz.
what you have measured is the DC winding resistance of the speaker coil
but it is an indicator which impedance the speaker can probably have.
In your case, it seems like an 8 ohm speaker.

look at your car that has fuses-- why not in our tanks!

A car have a lot of Fuses.
The Fuses build a chain from Battery to the last electronic device.
At the Tank i use Fuses at:
1. main short circuit protection to Battery = Sum Current of all devices + 10 to 20 %  (seldom more than 30A)
2. protection of ESC = rated Current - 10%
3. protection of Motor = rated stall current
4. protection of the electronic Control unit = rated current (most 1,5 to 3 A)

One thing I not sure about is how much current the gearbox motors can take. They have no rating on them and so with the X45 being able to deliver 45amps you could be in a stall situation or uphill etc and burn the motors out. That is why I fused the ESC's with a 25 amp fuse.

Hi,
i build a KingTiger for my Son.... weight arround 8 kg.
A spinturn on grass pulls the most current.
With standard Gearboxes and Motors the tank pull in sum (mesured) up to 15 Ampere.
This is arround 7.5 A stall current each Motor and thus corresponds to the specifications.
I think the ESC is not the Problem, they only need free Airflow for cooling.
To really protect the Motors put a 10A Fuse in one of the both Cables between Motor and ESC.

I'm not aware of any limitations of the Benedini with the Tamiya speaker. You could always shoot an email to Thomas Benedini to confirm.

the TBS Mini is rated  1,2W / 8 Ohm with 5V Input Voltage.
Thomas offers three different speakers for the TBS Mini:
- Visaton R10S => 30 Watt at 4 or 8 Ohm
-Monacor SPX-21M => 25 Watt at 4 Ohm
- a lttle one called Type BE-2 => 15 Watt at 4 Ohm

I think a 4 ohm speaker with 10Watt is the best choice.
More watts reduces the volume and efficiency of the speaker.

Hi,
i have much experience with heavy Tank models....
Out of the box the most models not able to make a sharp turn on carpet or wet grass.
The torsion bars need to be tuned!
Bend two or three torsionsbars in the middle hard down.
The weight pressure of the tank will concentrate on a smaller Point oft the tracks.
The effect is the front and the edge of the tracks have lower pressure and the tank can easier turn.

i am with Luke.
This will be a Problem by the ESC.
If the ESC is in "Practice Mode" there is a delay when Stick is/go to center, therefor you have switch the ESC in "Climbing Mode"
