TCB Dev / Re: Ideas for the OP Config
« on: August 31, 2020, 07:39:41 AM »
Hi Luke!

I have an idea for the boards (and software) new features. I know there is a hardware solution for 360° turret rotation with sling connectors but I do not trust them at all.
Do you ever consider a "software" 360 rotation which is based on a reed relay case count can be set by the user?

I mean: if I set the turret rotation max count to 3, the PCB will read the cases when the magnet passes 2 times and stop the turning at 3rd case. After that, only changed polarity (stick to other side, opposite direction) triggers the rotation to the opposite side.

Problems in my idea:
1. only the first count should be the user setting, after changing direction the counting should consider the remaining possible turns (if after the first start you turned the turret twice, the max value to the other side should be 5)
2. board must store the actual position and can keep in the memory after battery removal (for defending the cables)
3. users should consider what type of cable are they using and how long are they for set the correct value and not damage their cables, hardwares/hardwires

what do you think of that? Difficult, not user friendly, considerable, wtf?? :)

Thanks
Rongyos

ps.: sorry if my post is in the wrong topic, did not find better

Thanks for letting me know, and thanks for helping me find this issue!

No problem, nice to have this kind of good support from you.

The sound modul is working well, but I have a delay between push throttle stick and get engine sound. Can you help me find this parameter when I can correct the sound-delay?

Thanks

Hi Luke!

You are sure, I modified the trim for the throttle because I made a DIY self-centering stick accessory and it did not fit perfectly.
Few month ago I changed this stuff and forgot to set the trim again. I going to set it when I have time.

Do you know why the .NET framework error message appeared for me? I have Win10 EDU x64. Its missing some correct "value" parameter but I cant find what is this.

Thank you for your support!

It looked like all that happened was you maybe forgot to move the sticks to their extremes when doing the "Save Min/Max" function, but your aux channels seemed correct. I'm sure if you go through it again it will be fixed.
Yes, I missed the step when the software is waiting for the min/max values. I set it again and works fine

Either way, it seems Thomas has changed the prop values because 121 was correct for Flash v3. I have changed the forum settings so you can now attach a "tbc" file. Now that you have discovered the correct values, are you able to save your prop settings from Flash v4 and post them here?

I attached the working .tbc   Can you add the .tbp extension too?

Something is wrong

When I wanted to read parameter from Benedini this message showed up:

The attached error message said:

The "0" value is not valid for the field: "Value". "Value" should between "Minimum" and "Maximum". Parameter name: Value

Sorry I translated it fast :(

I would attach the prop and parameter settings but this forum cannot apply this file extention.

I discovered the solution myself when I was writing this reply :D I read the PROP1 value in the tbs-flash and realized the neutral is not 121 but was 123. I changed it in the prop menu and and I have movement sound :D (The benedini IS-2 soundset is terrible, but I can say thats a success)

Hi Adam, I've obtained the Leopard and JS-2 soundcards and done some testing. In fact all the cards are controlled the same way, but there was something I missed in my initial deciphering of their signals. Even on the PzIII card the idle sound would be playing during engine start but it was not so noticeable as on the JS-2 sound card.

Anyway I believe I've fixed the problem and I've posted a firmware update (v0.93.53). Give it a test and let me know your results.

Hello!

New firmware solved the problem, thanks :)

Hey Luke!

Thank you for your support!

Ok, I can see that your radio setup was not completed correctly. For example, for your throttle channel the min and max are set to 1500 and 1508. They should be something more like 1000 and 2000. The same is true for your other stick channels. This explains why you have no throttle response and why the turret stick functions are not working correctly.

Hmm... I managed the radio settings 2x, maybe I forgot to upload it to the board :/ I will do it at home again and report the result

Looking more closely at your images, it appears you are trying to import the Open Panzer Prop Settings on the Parameter tab of TBS Flash. The Prop Settings must be loaded on the Diagnostic tab of TBS Flash (used to be called the Misc tab in Flash v3 and earlier).

The V4.0 flash is different, I think. There is no upload button on "Diagnostic" tab. I wanted to open the parameter from "File - Open" Parameter browse menu. When I click on "Open" this message showed up. I opened the "Parameter" tab for showing you the settings (helping you to identify the user error, if any).

Thanks and regards

In the meantime if you have TBS Flash v3 you can try that.

Thank you Luke!

In the meantime can you check the log attached? I must be sure I not screwed up something.

Thank again!

Hello!

I have Benedini Mini v1 and got a problem.
When I want to upload the OP parameter it shows the pop-up message attached.
Also, engine start, idle, user sounds are working but there is no throttle sounds (I set the throttle and stearing to the right stick, will it change the program somehow?)

I attached some pics what I did (i set the prop settings manually)

One more: when I want to play user sound with turret stick, it starts in every stick position (I set the function to "Top left" and "Top right"...looks like positioning is not okay)

Thanks for the help

Download the hex, then in OP Config flash it to your TCB, but instead of downloading the latest hex from the web click the button that says "Use your own Hex" and select this file.

It’s very exciting to be on the testing team :)

Still do the same idle at engine start :(

Hi Luke!

Open Panzer Help / Taigen Sound module problem
« on: August 27, 2019, 03:36:23 PM »
Hi everybody!

I have a strange bug in taigen sound module. When I push the "motor start" trigger it plays the engine ignition but in the background there is idle as well. It is so frustrating and not so good.

What cause this and what can be the solution?

Thanks and regards
Adam

On the other hand, cheap amplifier breakout boards are widely available on eBay and Chinese sites so that part is convenient.

Hey Luke, thanks for your reply!

I was thinking about those kind of cheap amps because I used them in similar HL and other electronics, but -as I mentioned before - was afraid of ruining something because maxim amp has a lot of soldering pads (and not legs for making soldering harder :D )

I ordered a lot of spare smd resistors and diodes so I can practice soldering them.

Should I buy hot air soldering base?

At the same time I am pursuing some possibilities of production for the existing design (not through Hobby King).

interested :)

Hi everyone!

I'm new in electronics and the only thing that I can recognize on a schematic is DC+ and - :D
Leaving the joke, can I replace SMD parts to THT parts somehow? Did you make or can you send me a THT EAGLE board?
Or is it possible somehow? I van make PCB for the amplifier and I can solder the MicroSD car but little SMD-s are hard to soldering for me :(

Thank you for your help

Adam
