Title: Pololu Dual VNH5019 usable?
Post by: johnnyvd on January 27, 2018, 11:04:25 AM
Hi Luke,

Just found this: https://nodna.de/Pololu-Dual-VNH5019-Motor-Driver-Shield-fr-Arduino-12A is it usable as a drive unit for the TCB?
Did anyone use it?

Cheers, John

Actually that will not work, to use Pololu's terminology that is a "driver" and not a controller. It does not accept serial or any other kind of commands, you actually have to provide the literal direction signals and PWM, etc... It would work for a custom build like what Sergey has done (http://openpanzer.org/forum/index.php?topic=100.0) but it will not work with a stock TCB.

The equivalent Pololu "controller" that will work is the 2s12v10 (https://nodna.de/Qik-2s12v10-Dual-Serial-Motor-Controller) (that's the link at your store, for US customers just order directly from Pololu).

Allright. Thanks Luke! My bad.. Drivers need controllers, as Drivers are simply amplifiers and do not play the music so to say..
