Yes, same thing, INI/text file that would be the idea.

However - there is no need for any such configuration file when the sound card is used with the TCB. All configuration would be done through OP Config or handled automatically.

The only reason we might consider a settings file are for those cases where the sound card is used alone in some kind of RC model without the TCB. Obviously this is not our focus so development along those lines is not a priority.

Understood.  But, the INI file is already used by RC Tankers for the IBU and others, so the concept of it use and format is known......

I like that familiarity......

Luke,

To quote from above:

"But much more could be accomplished for the RC mode if a configuration program were created (similar to Benedini's TBS Flash), or if we just used some kind of "Settings.txt" file placed on the SD card."

A "Settings.txt" file......are you talking about a text formatted INI file....say "SETTINGS.INI"  that is called an Initialization file????

The IBU sound cards use that type of file.  So, many would be familiar with that type of parameter file.

So, that would be my vote.....

PS - I like the new board Design!

Open Panzer Help / Spin Lock Out Feature?
« on: May 04, 2017, 08:37:16 AM »
Luke,

I am not certain where this belongs; so, please feel free to move this inquiry if needed.

I would like to know if it is possible for the TCB to turn-off or lock out a RC Tank's ability to pivot, spin, super-spin, or whatever we're calling it?  What I mean is the ability of the tank to rotate its tracks it two different directions.   I would really like to make my Sturmtiger (and my Tiger 1s) work like the real Tiger 1.  The Tiger and quite a few WWII tanks could not preform this operation; in turning, it would reduce the speed of the inside track or stop it completely; but, not reverse it.  Is it possible for the TBC to mimic this operation?  I believe that the tank's ability to spin was actually introduced into a mass production tank with the Panther and never in the Tiger 1 or King Tiger.

I know to some this seems like an odd  or petty request; but, if you could lock that feature out, an RC Tiger would move more realistically.  I have done this with the stick control somewhat, but can never truly stop it completely.  SO, I was thinking why not see if the TCB could lock it out as an option.

Thanks,

Springman

Open Panzer Help / Question on Recievers - sort of....
« on: May 02, 2017, 05:47:20 PM »
This may be slightly off topic, but I really don't know where else to ask....
If I am using a Radiolink R9DS receiver, hooked to the TCB by its SBUS, can I utilize the conventional servo ports for the throttle on the receiver to connect to a Bendini TBS Mini?

Open Panzer Help / Re: Flash Port Ability Question

Four in parallel should no be a problem. Another thing to test might be to try multiple flash bulbs powered by a single Taigen unit. I'm not sure if that would work or not but worth a try if it would save you stuffing 4 flash units in your model. You could test that now even without the TCB.

Luke,

I ordered the Torro Sturmtiger yesterday, with 4 additional flash units.  So, I will be ready to bench test them shortly.  While knowing if the TCB can handle ganged flash units may not be useful to man in 1/16th scale, it may be to larger scales....

I have not tested that but it shouldn't be a problem. The flash units are not particularly high current devices by their nature.

OK, I guess that will be on my ToDo list to try.  But, maybe I Will try a quad (4) setup as the barrel seems to have the room for them....😬

If it could do 4 in parallel, I would consider ganging them for larger scales......

Thanks Luke!

Open Panzer Help / Flash Port Ability Question
« on: April 30, 2017, 10:33:02 AM »
Would the Flash Port of the TCB be capable of driving 2 or 3 Taigen high-intensity flash units in parallel at the same time?  This would be used in a 1/16th scale Torro Sturmtiger, to intensify the flash effect.

Thanks,

Springman
