Was lucky to acquire two more boards..now 3 in total! Two from England and one from Poland :)
My first board gets very hot in the area indicated in red. I didn't think this is supposed to happen
and the other ones only get mildly warm. The "hot" board seems to work well but sometimes
things do act quirky..ie. certain functions trigger other times they take a few tries.
Not a huge issue but curious if anybody had this area get very hot or perhaps knows what it could be
and if it could cause the board to act a little wonky?

This is the Main Processing Unit.
it can get warm - but not hot!
If it gets hot there is a problem with the power supply
or there is a short circuit somewhere and an increased current is flowing.
With all due respect - I think that you are not able to determine that ...

Thanks...I was sure I would not be able to determine anything! I just
thought no way it should get hot like this. Though it does work with all
functions albeit some thing things do not always work properly all the time
but not sure if that is the issue. Luckily I have two other boards now :)

Hi Osika, sorry for the slow reply. Jürgen is correct, there is almost certainly a short on the board. The most common place for this to happen is between adjacent pins on the processor chip. If you have a magnifying glass you can examine all around the processor and maybe you will see something obvious, but the pins are so small it is not always possible to see even if there is a short. If you do find one, then it is possible to correct it with a fine-tipped soldering iron and some flux, but again this needs to be something you are comfortable with.
